June 13, 2015. Bonnie Dodge will read from her new book, Family Recipes from the Snake River Plain in the First Federal Conference room of the new Twin Falls Visitor’s Center near the Perrine Bridge, Twin Falls, Idaho, 1 – 3pm.

December 13, 2014. Bonnie Dodge will read from her award-winning book Waiting at The Log Cabin in Boise. The event will include readings, book sales and signings, drinks and music. The event runs from 7 to 10 pm at the Cabin, 801 S. Capitol Blvd., in Boise, Idaho.

Sunday, September 7, 1 – 4 at Twin Falls Barnes and Noble.
A discussion about Evel Knievel’s Skycycle and a new children’s book about Knievel’s 1974 jump across the river near Twin Falls.
The 1 to 4 p.m. event is in conjunction with River St. Press’ release, “Billie Neville Takes a Leap” by award-winning authors Bonnie Dodge and Patricia Santos Marcantonio. The story is about a ten-year old girl who dreams of being a daredevil amid the excitement over Knievel’s jump near Twin Falls.
At 1 p.m. Jay Michaels, the liaison with the Return to Snake River project, will talk about Bob Truax, who designed and built the X-2 Skycycle used by Knievel during the Sept. 8, 1974 jump. He will discuss why the 1974 Knievel launch didn’t work as planned, and the differences between the original X-2 Skycycle and the updated design that Truax’s son Scott hopes to launch over the canyon with his team, fellow engineer Craig Adams and Hollywood stuntman Eddie Braun.
Dodge and Marcantonio will also discuss the writing of the book. In addition, the winner of the River St. Press “What is a Hero” essay contest will be announced.

Idaho Authors’ Holiday Book Fair
I’ll be joining writers Patricia Santos Marcantonio, Dixie Thomas Reale, Jennifer DeNaughel, Betty Hare, Cliff Johnson, Niels S. Nokkentved, Jack Goodman, and Merri Halma at a holiday book fair December 11, 2010, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Zulu Bagels & Java Jungle, 1986 Addison Avenue East, Twin Falls, Idaho. Stop by, say hello, and support these local authors. Our books will make great stocking stuffers.

On September 18, 2010, the Jerome Civic Club is sponsoring a writers’ workshop at the Jerome Public Library. Bonnie Dodge will lead the workshop, which will focus on nonfiction immigration and migration stories to/within America. The workshop is in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institution’s exhibit “Journey Stories.”

On March 30, 2010, The Other Bunch read from their book, Voices from the Snake River Plain, at the Filer Kiwanis Club. Since Dixie was recovering from knee surgery and still in the hospital, Pat and Bonnie presented the club’s program by reading from their book and answering questions about their upcoming workshop, Finding Your Voice. We want to thank the Filer Kiwanis Club for hosting us and being such a gracious audience.

Bonnie Dodge will present her workshop, The Organized Writer, at the Idaho Writer’s League’s state conference . In her workshop, Dodge will share tips for making goals, staying on track, and maintaining order in your writing, your office, and your life.

Bonnie Dodge and The Other Bunch will have a booth at Jerome’s Live History Days, June 13, 2009. Live History Day is the second Saturday in June each year with many people portraying life at the turn of the century in Jerome County, Idaho. There will be people making soap and butter, flint knapping, tractor pulls, and wagon rides, to mention only a few of the scheduled activities. After watching the live demonstrations, tour some of the original Jerome County buildings, see a real traveling wagon train and what life was like at the Minidoka Relocation Center. Then stop by and browse our books, and make a miniature one of your own. Or just stop by and say, “Hello.” We hope to see you there!
